We have for sale an Antique English Corkscrew with Button & Dusting Brush
Wonderful example of a mid-1800s English Corkscrew this has a decorative steel shank with button and steel wire worm (screw) nice rosewood handle with horse hair dusting brush.
Once you would have retrieved your bottle of wine from the root cellar you would have used the dusting brush to clean the dust and dirt off the bottle. The shank on the corkscrew is made with a button or easer once the worm is inserted into the cork fully the button will give the cork a little twist breaking the seal and allowing the removal of the cork much easier.
Era; 1850s
Measures; 5.5” long, 5” wide at handle.
Condition; Good with years of patina has a couple nicks and dings in the wood handle, overall very nice condition for being over 150 years old.
